Szkoła Podstawowa im. Bohaterów Westerplatte w Bieńkowicach is a primary school for students aged 7-15. There are currently 166 students on roll and 24 teachers. The school is in rural area far from big cities and close to the Czech Republic border. School is active especially in voluntary service. Voluntary Service Club «Z sercem na dłoni» has involved our students, teachers and parents alike in helping local organizations like «Pałac Różany» for mentally disabled women since 2010. The Club also visits hospitals and helps to organize sport events in the district of Racibórz. We annually arrange in our school meetings, festivals («Festiwal Pozytywnych Wartości» )and contests for disabled children. Our school was a coordinator of a Comenius project and also participated in several eTwinning projects.

 Although our Voluntary Service Club was created to support disabled in our neighbourhood we noticed that it also helps our students to develop virtues like caring and compassion and skills like problem-solving, teamwork. It also helps to gain knowledge about jobs in organizations taking care of disabled. We hope to share our experience with our partners.
