\"\"<\/a>Some of our fondest memories of elementary school were the field trips! And with La Molina, we went on two great ones: the Sierra Nevada, where the kids had a day in the snow and Oasys Mini Hollywood, which hosts a zoo and Old West reenactments. It was a great break from the normal schedule and super fun to be around the kids outside of the traditional school setting.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a1Algunos de nuestros mejores recuerdos de la escuela primaria fueron las excursiones! Y con La Molina, fuimos a dos grandes: Sierra Nevada, donde los ni\u00f1os pasaron un d\u00eda en la nieve y Oasys Mini Hollywood, que contiene un zool\u00f3gico y recreaciones del \u201cOld West\u201d. Fue un gran descanso del horario normal y muy divertido estar con los ni\u00f1os fuera del entorno escolar tradicional.<\/span><\/p>\n

One of our minor roles as assistants was to decorate the \u201cbilingual area\u201d as we celebrated different holidays\"\"<\/a> <\/span>throughout the year. The kids contributed just about all of the material, but our gluing and taping skills were unmatched!<\/span><\/p>\n

Uno de nuestros roles menores como asistentes fue decorar el \u201c\u00e1rea biling\u00fce\u201d mientras celebr\u00e1bamos diferentes d\u00edas\u00e7festivos a lo largo del a\u00f1o. Los ni\u00f1os realizaron casi todo el material, \u00a1pero nuestras habilidades atar con cinta fueron inigualables!<\/span><\/p>\n

Just before the long winter break, the teachers had an ugly sweater competition and went out for a great dinner. The students also got in on the fun, as seen posing in front of the big sweater.<\/span><\/p>\n

Justo antes de las largas vacaciones de invierno, los maestros tuvieron una competencia de jers\u00e9is feos y salieron a comer. Los estudiantes tambi\u00e9n se divirtieron, como se ve posando frente al jersey grande.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>To celebrate carnaval, we teamed up with the 1st and 2nd grade teachers in dressing up as superheroes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Para celebrar el carnaval, nos unimos a los maestros de 1\u00b0 y 2\u00b0 de primaria para disfrazarnos de superh\u00e9roes.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the teacher’s lounge, you will often find churros on Thursday mornings. Also, it’s customary for teachers to bring in something sweet to share on their birthday.<\/span><\/p>\n

En la sala de profesores, a menudo encontrar\u00e1s churros los jueves por la ma\u00f1ana. Adem\u00e1s, es costumbre que los maestros traigan algo dulce para compartir en su cumplea\u00f1os.<\/span><\/p>\n

Only having 12 hours face-to-face with the students each week means there\u00b4s plenty of extra time to work on activities or presentations for class. If you\u00b4re caught up with that work, breaks between classes served as a nice time\"\"<\/a> to chat with other teachers, drink coffee and play mobile games.<\/span><\/p>\n

Solo tener 12 horas cara a cara con los estudiantes cada semana significa que hay mucho tiempo extra para trabajar en actividades o presentaciones para la clase. Si est\u00e1s al d\u00eda con ese trabajo, los descansos entre clases son un buen momento para conversar con otros profesores, tomar caf\u00e9 y jugar juegos m\u00f3viles.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our day to day work with the 1st through 5th graders includes largely natural and social science topics. In some cases, we stay inside the class to assist with lessons. We also take two students at a time out into the hallway to practice vocabulary and basic conversations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Nuestro trabajo diario con los alumnos de 1\u00b0 a 5\u00b0 grado incluye principalmente temas de ciencias naturales y sociales. En algunos casos, nos quedamos dentro de la clase para ayudar con las lecciones. Tambi\u00e9n llevamos a dos estudiantes a la vez al pasillo para practicar vocabulario y conversaciones b\u00e1sicas.<\/span><\/p>\n
