Se hace alusi\u00f3n a las de la Carnestolendas del siglo XIV, y ya en el siglo XVI, en \u00e9poca de Felipe II, se encuentran m\u00e1s referencias en torno a la celebraci\u00f3n; en \u00e9l se dice que en tiempos de carnestoladas seban cantidad gran cantidad de m\u00e1scaras y una especie de palos que serv\u00edan para hacer hacer y dar aversi\u00f3n al acontecimiento j\u00fabilo que se merec\u00eda.
