El pasado 3 de octubre llegaron nuestros auxiliares de conversación, Evan y Magda, al cole. Los recibimos con la canción “Back to school” y un espectáculo de flamenco, a cargo del alumnado de 5º.
A continuación, representantes de todas las clases de primaria hicieron una presentación de nuestra provincia y les hablaron de personajes célebres, lugares de interés, gastronomía, pueblos, cine, agricultura intensiva, etc.
Tras la presentación, visitamos la exposición sobre Almería, montada en colaboración con todo el alumnado del centro y sus familias, que han aportado todo tipo de materiales, desde libros hasta maquetas, pasando por objetos de decoración, artesanía, fotografías, etc.
Seguidamente, visitamos al alumnado de infantil, que nos recibió cariñosamente en su patio e hizo entrega de unos obsequios para Evan y Magda.
Por último, nuestros auxiliares fueron visitando todas las clases del colegio y, durante las primeras semanas han ido presentándose y dando información sobre sus países, costumbres, cultura, etc.

EVAN
Hi everyone, My name is Evan Vukasinovic, and this is my first year being a language assistant. The program that I am a part of is called North American Language and Culture Assistants (NALCAP), and it allows North Americans to live and work in Spain as language assistants. I am originally from Toronto, Canada and this is my first time in Spain. Over the course of the school year, I hope to accomplish many goals. I want to share my culture with students, as well as strengthen their English skills through the use of engaging activities and presentations. In addition to working with students at CEIP Nueva Almería, I hope to be conversational in Spanish by the time my program finishes at the end of May. At CEIP Nueva Almería I will be assisting teachers and working in classrooms that involve the topics of natural and social sciences. Having just completed my university undergraduate degree in History, I am looking forward to becoming a teaching assistant and working with students in the natural and social sciences. I love being in Almería and I cannot wait to travel around Spain and learn more about this beautiful country.
MAGDA
Hi, my name is Magda and I come from a beautiful small country located in the north-eastern part of Europe – Poland. This is my second year as an English language assistant in Almeria, Spain. Working in C.E.I.P. Nueva Almería is a great journey that allows me to use tools such as education to exchange my experience in learning English and also to show the culture, language and traditions of my country to the youngest students. Thanks to my work at school, I also learn a lot from my youngest pupils. Apart from working at C.E.I.P. Nueva Almería , I am a fourth-year student of Primary School Education at the University of Almeria. In my spare time I like to travel, get to know new cultures, cuisines, new people and do sports. I am very happy that I will spend this year in C.E.I.P. Nueva Almeria, where I will certainly have the opportunity to deepen my passions and gain experience as a future teacher.
