  Carboneras is a beautiful town with some of the most beautiful beaches in Spain in close proximity to Cabo de Gata, a national nature reserve. You can spend your time at the beach looking out on the Mediterranean Sea, you can hike around the nearby hills, or you can enjoy local tapas at any bar in town. There is a public library, and a house of music with music lessons, dance lessons, and a local theatre. You can go scuba diving, or visit ancient Moorish ruins like the Castillo de San Andres or the Torre del Rayo. Additionally, there is a Peña Flamenca where you can witness the authentic flamenco dancing and singing of Andalusia. This town is full of friendly locals that will be happy to get to know you.
