Características del barrio
Luque está situado en el sureste de la provincia de Córdoba, al pie de los macizos mesozoicos de la cadena Subbética, entre la depresión del Guadalquivir y la cordillera Penibética, a medio camino entre Córdoba y Granada, viajando por la N-432, es puerta de entrada al Parque Natural de las Sierras Subbéticas cordobesas. El núcleo urbano tiene su máxima elevación en el castillo con 669 metros sobre el nivel del mar y la mayor altura de su término es la loma de Abuchite con 1.243 metros. Linda por el norte con Baena, al oeste con Zuheros, al sur con Priego y Carcabuey y al este con Alcaudete, provincia de Jaén.

Por su ubicación geográfica entre la sierra y la campiña nuestra localidad a lo largo del devenir de los tiempos, ha sido Tierra de Fronteras. Luque se encuentra en una posición de privilegio en lo que a naturaleza se refiere al estar enclavado en las Sierras Subbéticas Cordobesa y al poseer en su término municipal la Laguna del Salobral o del Conde, Vía Verde del Aceite y formar parte de la Ruta del Califato. En los últimos años la industria está absorbiendo la mayor parte de mano de obra joven. Se aprecia también un descenso importante en el índice de natalidad, hecho manifiesto en la reducción de matrícula, aun estando escolarizada toda la población infantil.

El nivel cultural familiar responde, básicamente, a un nivel medio. Las familias, en general, se preocupan de la escolarización de sus hijos y aprecian, en su mayoría, el valor de la escuela como elemento de movilidad y promoción social. Se percibe una mayor preocupación por aspectos académicos que por los propiamente educativos, sobre todo en el último curso; existe, en muchos casos, disparidad entre los valores y hábitos inculcados en la escuela y los que reciben en el marco externo al Centro. La asistencia del alumnado a clase es buena, aportando el material que se solicita.
Las familias tienen a bien participar en actividades socioculturales organizadas por el Centro; aunque se fomentarán aquellas que partan de su propia iniciativa y a petición del AMPA (en proceso de que funcione, otro reto a alcanzar).

El equipamiento social de la localidad, es diverso y variado en lo referente a instalaciones deportivas, considerando la existencia de numerosas instalaciones: 1 campos de fútbol, 1 pabellón deportivo, piscina al aire libre, pista de pádel, de tenis y polideportivas, además de otros espacios. Así mismo, la localidad cuenta con Centro de Salud, Hogar del Pensionista, un Instituto de Enseñanza Secundaria, Biblioteca Municipal, Teatro Cine Carrera, Museo, Casa de la Cultura, Centro Guadalinfo, Residencia de Mayores…

Cuenta Luque además, con un patrimonio cultural muy a tener en cuenta, entre el que destaca el Castillo, importante y numeroso patrimonio histórico religioso si observamos nuestras Ermitas e Iglesias, así como yacimientos arqueológicos.

Red de centros: respecto a la red de centros educativos de la localidad, todos conocemos bien la existencia de dos centros, el nuestro y el IES “Albenzaide”, por lo que todos los niños del pueblo son escolarizados primero en el CEIP y casi todos van después, al finalizar la escolarización obligatoria en Primaria al IES. Al ser los dos únicos centros, he de asegurar que la relación y coordinación entre ambos viene siendo todos los años satisfactoria. Decir también que el total del alumnado que entra en Ed.Infantil casi en un 100% procede de la Escuela Infantil “Pinocho” (también se incluiría en la red de centros), ubicada en Calle Fuente Alhama, 62, cuyo titular es el Ayuntamiento de Luque. Se busca la colaboración activa del Ayuntamiento en celebración de efemérides y otros.
Uso de las instalaciones como Teatro Cine Carrera para actividades diversas.
Visitas al patrimonio histórico del pueblo con guía Director Museo de Luque…

Luque is located in the southeast of the province of Córdoba, at the foot of the Mesozoic massifs of the Subbética chain, between the Guadalquivir depression and the Penibética mountain range, halfway between Córdoba and Granada, traveling along the N-432, it is a gate entrance to the Sierras Subbéticas Cordoba Natural Park.
