Today I’d like to share with the secret to the perfect story. Relative clauses!
What is a relative clause? It’s the extra information and details we can include in our written composition. With all this information the sentences are longer and more complex. Look at the following examples:
- John gave me a blue ball.
- The ball which John gave me is blue.
As you can see, the sentences have the same meaning and the same information, but they seem very different. Why? Just simply because of the relative clause. And, what are the main relative pronouns? The main relative pronouns are who, which, where, when, whose, why and how.
