HALLOWEEN AT IES ENTRESIERRAS
Students and teachers at IES Entresierras had the opportunity of enjoying different activities during the Halloween celebration. The English Department set up a cake and dessert contest. This idea was proposed by the Art teacher. In it, students delighted us with their culinary skills by making Halloween related desserts. More than 30 sweets were brought in by the students which made the contest a huge success. They demonstrated their imagination by creating ghoulish cakes and desserts. Skulls, blood, eyes and brains filled the table.
The jury, a group of teachers who kindly volunteered, had to value originality, creativity, healthy as well as taste. After a tough decision, the first prize was given to Andrea Campoy (ESO 3rd Year, Group B), the second prize to Patricia Bernabé (ESO 2nd Year, Group A) and the third prize was given to Marta Lizarte (ESO 1st Year, Group A). Once the contest was over, everybody could enjoy the fruits of their labour,
resulting in a festive celebration for all.
On top of that we kept with our festivity and bobbed for apples during the break. This was a hit. Bobbing for apples is an autumn tradition in which people fill a tub with water and apples. As the apples flow, students must try to catch one with their teeth. This is harder that it sounds.
A big thank you to everyone who participated and came out to celebrate the scariest day of the year.
