OPEN-MIC DAY
Art is highly valued in Anglo-Saxon countries. Music, cinema, theater, etc., play a huge role in those societies and they promote and favour activities related to these fields for all types of audiences, either children, youngsters or adults. Open-Mics are an example of this; they consist of people stepping onto the stage in a bar or pub and doing monologues or sketches, telling stories or jokes, rapping, playing instruments, etc. Great comedians and story-tellers started their careers by doing this.
Some ESO 4th students have organized their own Open-Mic Day, and have performed different shows such as telephone jokes, funny advertising sketches, sevillanas dance or piano concert. By doing this, they have put into practice their fantastic oral skills as well as their ability to act in front of an audience. Likewise, they had a blast and lost their feeling of self-consciousness.
