EXERCISE #1. Complete the following sentences using* one of the two words given at the end of each sentence.
Here is an example:
- Law is a set of rules that governs our __________ Society or neighbourhood?
The answer is: Society
Now you try:
- The law is imposed by _________ Violence or force?
- Worker’s rights and duties are in the ________ Law or Bible?
- If you commit a crime, you can be __________ rewarded or punished?
EXERCISE #2. Work in groups of three students. First, listen carefully to the following sentences and say if each sentence is true or false according to the text. Then, one of the member of each group has to say to the class the correct answer. Finally, do not forget to write the correct sentence in your note book.
- The law is based in one pillar: justice.
- The word justice is usually defined by our own values and principles.
- There is Legal Security when there is not arbitrariness.
- The Public Law refers to the rules that govern the relationship between individuals and the State.
EXERCISE #3. Here you have a list of sources of the employment law. I will read them one by one. You will have to decide if the source is A FORMAL SOURCE OR A MATERIAL SOURCE.
Here is an example:
The European Union.
The answer is: it is a material source.
Now you try:
- The Congress of Deputies and the Senate.

EXERCISE #4. I am going to read four sentences but the information is wrong. Try to say them again with the correct information.
Here is an example:
- The European Directives are rules that can only be made by Spaniards.
The answer is: the European directives are rules that are made by the members of the European Union.
Now you try
- An Organic Law doesn’t need an absolute majority to be approved.
IT REALLY NEEDS THAT MAJORITY.
- The Decrees are made by the Parliament.
THEY ARE MADE BY THE GOVERNMENT.
- The employment contract is only signed by the employer.
It is also sign by the worker.
