The full video of The Olympic Games at IES Gamonares is now available!

We are excited to announce that you can finally watch the full video of the Olympic celebration organized as part of our school’s bilingual project: The Olympic Games at IES Gamonares.

This initiative was born with two main goals: to improve the image and use of our sports facilities, and to offer students a motivating and enriching experience. The Olympic theme became the perfect thread to work from a global and interdisciplinary perspective, involving both bilingual and non-bilingual subjects.

During the event, not only were sports activities held, but students also showcased projects developed across different areas, exploring important topics such as: the role of women in the Olympic Games, the impact of weather on competitions, doping and its consequences, mental health among elite athletes, diversity and inclusion, art and culture around the Olympics, etc.

Additionally, as a complementary final product, 4th-year secondary students created a news broadcast to showcase the projects, complementary activities, and experiences developed throughout the school year as part of this initiative. And, during the Olympic celebration days, they also conducted interviews with participating athletes and key figures involved in the project, offering a close and dynamic look at everything that took place.

As you can see, the project has been, as well, aligned with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including gender equality, good health and well-being, quality education, and reduced inequalities—promoting critical thinking and a sense of global responsibility among our students.

It has been a project full of enthusiasm, teamwork, and commitment. We hope you enjoy watching the video as much as we enjoyed creating it!

¡Ya está disponible el vídeo completo de The Olympic Games at IES Gamonares!

Nos complace anunciar que por fin podéis disfrutar del vídeo completo de la gran celebración de los Juegos Olímpicos organizada por el proyecto bilingüe de nuestro centro: The Olympic Games at IES Gamonares.

Esta iniciativa nació con un doble objetivo: mejorar la imagen y el uso de nuestras instalaciones deportivas, y ofrecer al alumnado una experiencia motivadora y enriquecedora. La temática olímpica se convirtió en un hilo conductor perfecto para trabajar desde una perspectiva global, integrando contenidos de distintas áreas, tanto bilingües como no bilingües.

Durante la celebración no sólo se llevaron a cabo actividades deportivas, sino que también se expusieron los proyectos realizados en diferentes materias ( tanto aquellas que forman parte del equipo bilingüe como otras que no) en relación a temas como: la figura de la mujer en los Juegos Olímpicos, el efecto de la meteorología en las competiciones, el dopaje y sus consecuencias, la salud mental en el deporte, la diversidad e inclusión, el arte y la cultura en torno a los Juegos

Además, como producto final complementario, el alumnado de 4º de ESO realizó un telediario en el que dieron visibilidad a los proyectos, actividades complementarias y experiencias vividas a lo largo del curso en relación con este proyecto. Y, durante los días de celebración de los Juegos, también llevaron a cabo entrevistas a los deportistas participantes y a personas clave en el desarrollo de esta iniciativa, ofreciendo una mirada cercana y dinámica de todo lo vivido.

Así, se puede observar también su alineación con varios Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS), como la igualdad de género, la salud y el bienestar, la educación de calidad, y la reducción de las desigualdades, fomentando así una conciencia crítica y comprometida con el mundo que nos rodea.

Ha sido un proyecto lleno de ilusión, participación y compromiso. ¡Esperamos que disfrutéis tanto como nosotros al revivirlo en este vídeo!
