Nuestro centro actual naci\u00f3 en 1990 en el edificio Valc\u00e1rcel como Instituto de Bachillerato si bien ven\u00eda funcionando, desde alg\u00fan tiempo antes, como una extensi\u00f3n del Instituto Santa Mar\u00eda del Rosario ya desaparecido.<\/p>\n
En el a\u00f1o 2000 se traslad\u00f3 al edificio que ocupamos en la actualidad, ya con la denominaci\u00f3n de IES La Caleta, por lo que siempre ha estado vinculado al barrio de la Vi\u00f1a que constituye su entorno natural y social y del que procede una gran parte de su alumnado.<\/p>\n
