un tornillo de rosca fina, situado en el interior una estructura met\u00e1lica dotada de dos topes, uno fijo y otro m\u00f3vil. Este \u00faltimo se desplaza cuando se hace girar el tambor. Adem\u00e1s, lleva marcadas una escala horizontal (fija) dividida en dos partes y una vertical (m\u00f3vil, que gira al rotar el del tambor, hemos de conseguir que la pieza que vamos a medir se sit\u00fae entre los dos topes (micr\u00f3metro de exteriores) o que los topes\u00a0 se encajen dentro de la pieza (micr\u00f3metro de interiores).<\/div><div class=\"sppb-addon-content\"><p>Una vez hecho esto, lo \u00fanico que nos queda es observar las escalas, teniendo en cuenta que la horizontal superior indica los mil\u00edmetros, la horizontal inferior los medios mil\u00edmetros y la vertical las cent\u00e9simas de Maudslay\u00a0construy\u00f3 un micr\u00f3metro de banco que presentaba una escala dividida en d\u00e9cimas de pulgada y un tambor, solidario al tornillo, dividido en cent\u00e9simas y mil\u00e9simas de pulgada.<\/p><p style=\"font-style: normal;font-weight: 300;font-size: 15px;font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;text-align: justify\"><span style=\"font-family: Roboto, sans-serif;font-size: 15px;font-style: normal;font-weight: 300\">En 1890, el empresario e inventor estadounidense Laroy Sunderland Starrett patent\u00f3 un micr\u00f3metro muy similar al
