This document is part of the high school\u2019s history. It was Severo Ochoa\u2019s response to the telegram the faculty sent him in order to congratulate him for winning the Nobel Prize in Medicine. This Spanish scientist studied Bachillerato \u2014execept for the fifth school year\u2014 in M\u00e1laga and, during his lifetime, he gave heartfelt testimonies of what his years of education in our city meant to him. He always highlighted the influence some of the high school\u2019s teachers had in his science career: in particular, Luis Mu\u00f1oz-Cobo, natural history teacher, and specially, as it\u2019s noted in the telegram, Eduardo Garc\u00eda Rodeja who, according to his words, \u201cawoke my passion for natural sciences\u201d.
