A Jobshadowing<\/em><\/strong> is a particular type of on-the-job training programme which intends to develop expertise, it involves attending classes with a counterpart and contrasting methodologies on the one hand, getting acquainted with the hosting country socio-cultural life on the other hand.<\/p>

We spent a week at Agrupamento de Escolas de Valongo<\/em><\/strong> near Porto, Portugal<\/strong>. We were amazed by the fact that all stages from Pre-school, Primary, Middle School and Secondary to Post-compulsory Education and VET\/ HNC are associated and coordinated under a common School Management. Moreover, the city and sorrounding views of Porto were stunning, not to mention the architecture.<\/p>

Olga L\u00f3pez<\/em><\/strong> attended IT clases in a VET group, Mar Ord\u00f3\u00f1ez<\/em><\/strong> attended Economics in a Post-compulsory Education group. So did Lupe de Toro<\/em><\/strong> and Carmen Nevado<\/em><\/strong>, who jobshadowed their counterpart teacher of English. The students showed great interest and posed lots of readymade questions related to both educational systems, teaching methods, Portuguese and Spanish gastronomy, sportlife, history, similarities or differences, likes and dislikes.\u00a0<\/p>

Classes were really active and rewarding as doing something extraordinary is highly motivating<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 We also shared experiences with 3-5 year-olds, attending an English class on the weather; at primary education we enjoyed the improvised presentation with realia by one of the caretakers about one of the most relevant local festivities, Moors and Christians<\/em>. Two Tourism VET students took us on a guided visit in English round the school facilities and some HNC students at Cookery and Catering<\/em> welcomed us with a succulent breakfast prepared and served by the students themselves.<\/p>

We also met their Headmaster and Coordinators, enjoyed coffee breaks with teachers of different subjects. We kindly thank Ligia<\/em><\/strong> Martins<\/em><\/strong>, our Erasmus contact in Portugal, for her full-time commitment.<\/p>

Un Jobshadowing<\/em><\/strong> es un tipo particular de programa de formaci\u00f3n en el puesto de trabajo que pretende desarrollar la experiencia, implica asistir a clases con un hom\u00f3logo y contrastar metodolog\u00edas, por un lado, y familiarizarse con la vida sociocultural del pa\u00eds de acogida, por otro.<\/p>

Pasamos una semana en el Agrupamento de Escolas de Valongo<\/em><\/strong>, cerca de Oporto (Portugal)<\/em><\/strong>. Nos sorprendi\u00f3 el hecho de que todas las etapas, desde la educaci\u00f3n infantil, primaria, media y secundaria hasta la educaci\u00f3n postobligatoria y la FP, est\u00e9n asociadas y coordinadas bajo una direcci\u00f3n escolar com\u00fan. Adem\u00e1s, la ciudad y las vistas de los alrededores de Oporto eran impresionantes, por no hablar de la arquitectura.<\/p>

Olga L\u00f3pez asisti\u00f3 a clases de Inform\u00e1tica en un grupo de FP, Mar Ord\u00f3\u00f1ez asisti\u00f3 a Econom\u00eda en un grupo de 1\u00ba de Bachillerato. Tambi\u00e9n lo hicieron Lupe de Toro y Carmen Nevado, que asistieron a clase de su hom\u00f3loga profesora de ingl\u00e9s. Los alumnos mostraron un gran inter\u00e9s y plantearon multitud de preguntas relacionadas con ambos sistemas educativos, m\u00e9todos de ense\u00f1anza, gastronom\u00eda portuguesa y espa\u00f1ola, vida deportiva, historia, similitudes o diferencias, gustos y aficiones.\u00a0<\/p>

Las clases fueron muy activas y gratificantes, ya que hacer algo extraordinario es muy motivador.<\/em><\/strong> Tambi\u00e9n compartimos experiencias con ni\u00f1os de 3 a 5 a\u00f1os, asistiendo a una clase de ingl\u00e9s sobre el tiempo atmosf\u00e9rico; en educaci\u00f3n primaria disfrutamos de la presentaci\u00f3n improvisada por parte de una conserje sobre una de las fiestas locales m\u00e1s relevantes, Moros y Cristianos<\/em>. Nos mostr\u00f3 mu\u00f1ecos de papel mach\u00e9 de tama\u00f1o real y nos mostr\u00f3 coloridos libros. Dos alumnos de FP de Turismo nos llevaron a una visita guiada en ingl\u00e9s por las instalaciones del centro y unos alumnos y alumnas de Ciclo Medio y Superior de Cocina y Restauraci\u00f3n nos recibieron con un suculento desayuno preparado y servido por ellos mismos.<\/p>

Tambi\u00e9n conocimos a su Directora y Coordinadores, y disfrutamos de caf\u00e9s con los profesores de las diferentes asignaturas. Agradecemos a Ligia Martins<\/em><\/strong>, nuestro contacto Erasmus en Portugal, por su dedicaci\u00f3n a tiempo completo.<\/p>
