Their first winter was <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: serif\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">very hard. But the next fall they had a good <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: serif\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">harvest from the seed they had planted. They <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: serif\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">decided to celebrate with a feast, including <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: serif\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">the Indians who had helped them survive <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: serif\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">their first year.&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: serif\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">The men went hunting to get meat for the <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: serif\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">feast. It is not certain that wild turkey was a <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: serif\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">part of their feast since they used the term <\/span><\/span>\u201c<span style=\"font-family: serif\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">turkey\u201d for any kind of wild birds. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: serif\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">There was also no milk, cider, potatoes or <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: serif\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">butter. There were no cows to produce milk <\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: serif\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">and the newly-discovered potato was still&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: serif\"><span style=\"font-size: large\">thought by many to be poisonous.
