experiencia (a presi\u00f3n constante) se basa en un simple frasco de PET (tereftalato de polietileno) con un term\u00f3metro digital incorporado para medir los valores de temperatura. En \u00e9l podemos distinguir cuatro partes fundamentales: (a) proceso o reacci\u00f3n, (b) disoluci\u00f3n acuosa, (c) paredes, y (d) aire o alrededores. Al considerar todas las partes, la ley de la conservaci\u00f3n de la energ\u00eda establece que la suma de los calores intercambiados por cada una de ellas es: <em>Q<sub>reacci\u00f3n<\/sub> + Q<sub>(ac)<\/sub> + Q<sub>paredes<\/sub> + Q<sub>aire<\/sub> = 0<\/em>. Con precauci\u00f3n se a\u00f1ade la masa pesada de s\u00f3lido blanco al frasco de PET, y se introduce r\u00e1pidamente el termopar, agitando el frasco con movimientos circulares, muy suavemente, lo justo para homogeneizar la mezcla. El autor (Shakashiri) sugiere que el verde de <\/span><span class=\"Y2IQFc\" lang=\"es\">la soluci\u00f3n es manganato de potasio, K<sub>2<\/sub>MnO<sub>4<\/sub>, Mn(6+) y el precipitado oscuro es \u00f3xido de manganeso(III), Mn(3+), y\/o di\u00f3xido de manganeso, MnO<sub>2<\/sub>, Mn(2+). Es por ello que piezas met\u00e1licas de estos metales conservan sus propiedades por mucho tiempo. En el caso del plomo se forma una fina l\u00e1mina de PbO. La oxidaci\u00f3n a PbO<sub>2 <\/sub>solo ocurre en condiciones oxidantes fuertes pero no con el ox\u00edgeno atmosf\u00e9rico.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #333333\">La descomposici\u00f3n catalitica de H<sub>2<\/sub>O<sub>2<\/sub> con especies de Pb(2+) y Pb(4+) en disoluci\u00f3n acuosa ha sido estudiada por varios autores. En fase heterog\u00e9nea es dif\u00edcil determinar un \u00fanico mecanismo pero podemos llegar a las siguientes conclusiones de este atractivo ciclo catal\u00edtico:<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #333333\"><strong>H<sub>2<\/sub>O<sub>2<\/sub> es capaz de oxidar Pb(2+) a Pb(4+)<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;text-align: justify\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399\">a) H<sub>2<\/sub>O<sub>2<\/sub> + PbO\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u2192\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 PbO<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0 + H<sub>2<\/sub>O<\/span><\/strong><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333333\">H<sub>2<\/sub>O<sub>2<\/sub> es capaz de reducir Pb(4+) a Pb(2+) para producir O<sub>2<\/sub><\/span><\/strong><\/p><p style=\"padding-left: 40px;text-align: justify\"><strong><span style=\"color: #333399\">b) H<sub>2<\/sub>O<sub>2<\/sub> + PbO<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u2192\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 PbO\u00a0 + H<sub>2<\/sub>O + O<sub>2<\/sub><\/span><\/strong><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;padding-left: 40px\">&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify;padding-left: 40px\"><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000\">2 H<sub>2<\/sub>O<sub>2<\/sub>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u2192\u00a0\u00a0 2\u00a0 H<sub>2<\/sub>O\u00a0\u00a0 +\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 O<sub>2<\/sub><\/span><\/strong><\/p><p style=\"text-align: justify\"><span style=\"color: #333333\">La concentraci\u00f3n de la disoluci\u00f3n de per\u00f3xido de hidr\u00f3geno utilizada requiere de una extrema precauci\u00f3n.
