**Past Continuous** – **Form**: The past continuous is formed with the verb TO BE in past (was/were) followed by a verb ending in -ING. Example: *She was washing the dishes*.

**Past Continuous** – **Use**: Past continuous tense is used to express actions which were happening at a specific time in the past.
Example: *She was washing te dishes at 4 o’clock*.

**Past Continuous** – **time expressions**: *yesterday, last night, a week ago, two hours ago, at 4 o’clock*…
Example: *They were watching TV last night*.
