La Algaba is a village located in the province of Seville, Andalusia. It belongs to the region of La Vega del Río Guadalquivir, extending over its right bank. It has a population of 15,519 inhabitants. It is located at 7 kilometres from the Seville.
The origins of the town date back to pre-Roman times, when the heirs of the Tartessian civilisation founded Balbibilis Turdetana, which was destroyed in the time of the Visigoths. La Algaba comes from the Arabic word Al-Gaba, which means ‘The Forest’.
