Defining and Non-defining relative clauses (Intermediate Level B1)

Dear students,

I know you may be wondering why teachers always tell you to use subordinate clauses (with who, which, where, etc) and the reason is that your written compositions and oral tasks will be enriched. Believe me, you will notice a huge difference and improvement.

Let’s have a look at these two examples. See the difference in the second sentence:

A) My mother is Irish. She has long, red hair and blue eyes.

B) My mother, who has long, red hair and blue eyes, is Irish.

See? Using subordinate clauses is also very useful for your mediation activities.

For this reason, I have chosen the following video which I hope you like. There, you’ll find all the information you need.

Regards,
