continuous.

(result: Now I can go out) focuses on “how many/much” e.g. I have drunk 3 coffees Action which is finished e.g. I have written some emails Yet/Already e.g. Haven´t you finished yet? |
Used with “for/since” e.g. I have been living since 1990 ongoing actions live-study and work Focuses on the activity e.g. I have been doing my homework focuses on “how long” e.g. How long have you been learning English? Action which may continue e.g. I have been writing some emails Temporary situations e.g. She’s been running a lot recently. (She doesn’t usually do this). Shows evidence of recent activity e.g. I know, I’m really red. I’ve been running! |
