CHRISTMAS TIME IS A WONDERFUL PERIOD TO ENJOY THE MUSIC IN THE SCHOOLS.

This year the students have sang the song: Joy to the World.

Joy to the World» is an English hymn and Christmas carol. It was written in 1719 by the English minister and hymnist Isaac Watts. It is usually sung to the American composer Lowell Mason‘s 1848 arrangement of a tune attributed to George Frideric Handel. The hymn’s lyrics are a Christian interpretation of Psalm 98 and Genesis 3.

Since the 20th century, «Joy to the World» has been the most-published Christmas carol in North America, even though it was not originally associated with Christmas. As of December 2009, it was published in 1,387 hymnals in North America, according to the Dictionary of North American Hymnology.

CAROL OF THE BELLS is a beautiful and popular Christmas carol, which is based on the Ukrainian New Year’s song «Shchedryk” The music for the carol comes from the song written by the Ukrainian composer Mykola Leontovych in 1914.

“White Christmas” is a sensitive Christmas carol. Its content comes from the Second War World when lots of families waited the soldiers after the conflict.

He preparado una breve vídeo de 20 segundos apróximadamente. En este vídeo los alumnos nombran diferentes países en Inglés. Estos países han participado en el proyecto de adornos navideños y por eso he cambiado el tradicional villancico navideño con un vídeo distinto.

Many people have suffering hardly due to the pandemic. From our school the Educative Community has recorded a general video showing a different way to celebrate this festivity in the Primary Schools. Here you have a piece of my students show.

Students of 6th level have represented the Christmas Carol: «Rocking around the Christmas Tree»

Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree» is a Christmas song written by Johnny Marks and recorded by Brenda Lee in 1958; it has since been recorded by numerous other music artists. By the song’s 50th anniversary in 2008, Lee’s original version had sold over 25 million copies with the 4th most digital downloads sold of any Christmas single.

CHRISTMAS TIME 2016!

 

Every year we pay as interest as we can in order to organize an amazing party in which our pupils could develop their english speaking skills.

On December they have been practising the christmas carols so as to surprise their parents in the show room.

My students of 5th level are going to sing the song: “When Christmas comes to town”. It’s a wonderful song from the film: Polar Express.

The students of 6th level are going to sing the Christmas song: “Last Christmas”: It’s from the 80s and it is very famous. Besides, it contains easy lirics.

Although it is complicated to combine the annual English programming with extra activities, all is possible finally.
