DÍA DE ANDALUCIA 28- 2- 2015

On the twenty-sixth of February we celebrated “Andalusian Day”.

We had class for the first three hours, then the bell rang to announce that it was time for the break. We all went down to the shop to collect our ham sandwich. I really enjoyed my sandwich because it was very tasty and I think everyone else enjoyed it as much as me. We all went outside to play and to do anything we wanted to do. Suddenly, it was twelve o’clock and the bell rang to announce that the break was over. We all went to the “Hall” to see the acts that the different classes had prepared about the provinces of Andalusia.

To make it more fun for everybody, José María, the P.E. teacher, dressed up as a woman to present the acts.

First of all, Lucía from 1º B read out a poem from Seville. Judith, Véronica, Inés and Germán from 2º A a poem from Granada, and Véronica and Judith a poem from Jaén. Afterwards, Javi and Araceli from 2º A recited a variety of monologues from Málaga. Then, Estela from 2º B and Verónica, María Pacheco and Judith from 2º A danced “Sevillanas” to represent Seville. Finally, most of 3º B told us some jokes which is a tradition in Cádiz. In between every act, José María would give us a riddle to figure out, and whoever guessed correctly would get a lollipop. Whilst they were changing acts some pupils and teachers went to the stage to tell us all some jokes. The ones that told the best jokes were rewarded with a lollipop. When all the acts had finished, we all went outside to the football pitch and we created the “Andalusian Flag”. We did this by standing in alternate rows wearing green and white tops. Meanwhile, one of the teachers was filming us all singing the “Regional Anthem”.

To finish off this fablulous day, we were all outside playing and doing anything we wanted to do. The bell rang to announce that it was time to go home.

This day has been fantastic!
