El pasado 12 de Mayo conmemoramos en el IES Julio Rodríguez el día escolar de las matemáticas, en relación a dicha  efeméride, el Dpto de Matemáticas organizó una serie de actividades extraescolares con objeto de potenciar la pasión por esta ciencia y poner en valor su papel crucial en el desarrollo de la sociedad.

Las actividades llevadas a cabo fueron las siguientes:

• Conferencia sobre “psicoprobabilidad” llevada a cabo por el profesor D. Rafael Ramírez Uclés, profesor del departamento de didáctica de la matemática, de la Universidad de Granada. En la cuál, a partir de juegos lúdicos pone de manifiesto como los alumnos pueden cambiar su percepción de la probabilidad de que ocurra un determinado experimento cuando se realiza en varias ocasiones y observan como piensan o razonan sus compañeros.

• Gymkhana Matemática. Los alumnos de 4º ESO participaron en una Gymkhana organizada en el centro donde los alumnos organizados en grupos pasaban por distintas pruebas sobre ingenio, cálculo, estimación,…. Cabe destacar, de forma general, el gran nivel competitivo de la mayoría de nuestros alumnos estando el concurso muy reñido hasta la última prueba.

Por otro lado, también destacar que varios de nuestros alumnos participaron, como en años anteriores, en la Olimpiada Matemática organizada por el IES Guadalentin (Pozo Alcón) donde pasaron una gran jornada de convivencia con alumnos de otros centros.
