VISIT HUELVA AND BE …
AN ASTRONAUT. Get to Mars by train! The Mining Park in Río Tinto has created a new experience that allows visitors to tour the places where NASA, the European Space Agency and other institutions have conducted research and testing related to Mars exploration and other space missions for years.
A GOURMET. Go on a hike on any of the trails Sierra de Aracena and Picos de Aroche Natural Park offers! The extensive meadows in this mountain area are the ideal places to breed Iberian pigs, resulting in the pork industry that is at the center of the economies of many villages here. Of course, you must not leave without sampling the exquisitely cured meats in this region – especially the ham.
AN EXPLORER. Discover a true paradise underground! In the Las Maravillas Cave in Aracena, there are a lot of stalactites and stalagmites, as well as other rock formations such as lava flows or striped curtains, all of them in different shades of color. With its lakes, the cave offers an unforgettable sight.
A TIME TRAVELLER. Jump back into the 10th century and stroll around the cobbled streets of one of the quaintest villages of the Sierra. Almonaster la Real has a magnificent hilltop mosque amongst a castle’s ruins – a much smaller example of Cordoba’s famous Mezquita.
