Through the Bilingual-Class: And What We Found There
This academic year, what we have found posted on the bilingual bulletin board has been diverse. We have greeted different festivities, showed students’ projects and teachers’ materials. Here is a summary of all the different bulletin boards throughout the year.

Interview with Jonah, our language assistant
Every year the students from the bilingual groups interview our language assistants, so that we know them a bit better. This year has not been an exception and our 1º ESO students have asked our language assistant some questions about Spain, our customs, sports, or the grading sytem in the USA. It was an exceptional experience, and we all had so much fun this time. Thank you Jonah for sharing your answers with us!
Cada año el alumnado de los grupos bilingües entrevista a nuestros auxiliares de conversación para conocerlos un poco mejor. Este año no ha sido una excepción y nuestro alumnado de 1º ESO ha preguntado al auxiliar sobre España, nuestras costumbres, deportes o el sistema de calificación en los EEUU. Fue una experiencia excepcional y nos divertimos mucho esta vez. ¡Gracias Jonah por compartir tus respuestas con nosotros!
Welcome to our school!
Our language assistant is already in our school. He comes from Kansas, the USA and our students are happy to have him in their classes. The USA has 50 states, and Kansas was the 34th state to join the United States. The name «Kansas» comes from the native American Kaws or Kansa people (a Sioux tribe).
Nuestro asistente de conversación ya está en nuestro instituto. Viene de Kansas, EE.UU. y nuestro alumnado está contento de tenerlo en sus clases. Los EE.UU. tienen 50 estados, y Kansas fue el 34 estado en unirse a los Estados Unidos. El nombre «Kansas» viene de los nativo americanos Kaws o Kansa (una tribu Sioux).
Día Europeo de las Lenguas / European Day of Languages
On September 26, our school celebrated the European Day of Languages. We organized a T-shirt design contest, exhibited the finalist designs, and played Kahoot! with questions about this important day. All this is registered in the database of the European event. See it HERE. Our bulletin board also exhibited materials related to this day and most important, it exhibited the poster we submitted to the contest about «Languages in our school».
All the students designed great T-shirts, the finalist designs were awesome and the final decision was so difficult that the committee decided to give two second prizes. The winner design is very simple, but at the same time it is full of meaning. Congratulations Andrea on your work!
El 26 de septiembre, nuestro instituto celebró el Día Europeo de las Lenguas. Organizamos un concurso de diseño de camisetas, expusimos los diseños finalistas, y jugamos a Kahoot! con preguntas sobre este importante día. Todo esto está registrado en la base de datos del evento europeo. Míralo AQUÍ. Nuestro tablón también exhibió materiales relacionados con este día y lo más importante, exhibió el póster que enviamos al concurso sobre «Las lenguas de nuestro centro».
Todo el alumnado diseñó camisetas geniales, los diseños finalistas fueron increíbles y la decisión final fue tan complicada que el comité decidió dar dos accésits. El diseño ganador es muy sencillo, pero al mismo tiempo está lleno de significado. ¡Felicidades Andrea por tu trabajo!

Transport and Logistics Etwinning Project
ETwinning is a way of working with other European schools in a common project. In the second term, our first year Transport and Logistics students completed a four-week eTwinning project called «Company Presentation and Exploration of Possible Collaborations and/or Cooperations (Retailer/Wholesailer)». They worked with two VET schools: the Berufliche Schule Des Kreises Stormarn in Ahrensburg, Germany and the Lycée Polivalent Simone Veil in Brive-la Gaillarde, France.
ETwinning es una forma de trabajar con otros centros europeos en un proyecto común. En el segundo trimestre, nuestro alumnado de 1º de Transporte y Logística completó un proyecto eTwinning de cuatro semanas llamado «Company Presentation and Exploration of Possible Collaborations and/or Cooperations (Retailer/Wholesailer)». Trabajaron con dos centros de Formación Profesional: la Berufliche Schule Des Kreises Stormarn en Ahrensburg, Alemania y el Lycée Polivalent Simone Veil en Brive-la Gaillarde, France.
Interview with Dimitri, our Language Assistant
This week our students from the 1º ESO bilingual programme, Javier C. and Cecilia J., interviewed Dimitri, our language assistant this year. Dimitri is teaching us a lot of things about Canada, customs and language. Now, with this podcast, we have the opportunity to know more about him. Javier and Cecilia will ask him about his life in Spain, food he’s tried, and, among other topics, about snow days in his country.
Esta semana nuestros alumnos de 1º ESO del programa bilingüe, Javier C. and Cecilia J., entrevistaron a Dimitri nuestro asistente de conversación este año. Dimitri nos está enseñando muchas cosas sobre Canadá, costumbres e idioma. Ahora, con este podcast, tenemos la oportunidad de saber más sobre él. Javier y Cecilia le preguntarán sobre su vida en España, la comida que ha probado, y, entre otros temas, sobre los días de nieve en su país.
Our language assistant is in our school!
The language assistant has just arrived at school to work with us in our classes. He’s from Canada and he will be with us until May. We are already preparing a podcast with an interview to know more about him.
El asistente de conversación acaba de llegar al instituto para trabajar con nosotros en nuestras clases. Es de Canadá y estará con nosotros hasta mayo. Ya estamos preparando un podcast con una entrevista para saber más sobre él.
European Day of Languages
The European Day of Languages is celebrated on 26 September. This year we have decorated the bulletin board of our school´s main stairs with posters and information provided by the Council of Europe. Click HERE if you want to read and do some of the activities. They are fun.
El Día Europeo de las Lenguas se celebra el 26 de Septiembre. Este año hemos decorado el corcho de las escaleras principales del instituto con pósters e información del Consejo de Europa. Haz click AQUÍ si quieres leer y hacer algunas de las actividades. Son divertidas.
«Transport and Logistics Rosco Challenge» Winners
El pasado mes de febrero tuvo lugar la primera edición del “Transport & Logistics Rosco Challenge”, una adaptación digital del tan popular concurso de Pasapalabra. Participaron estudiantes de diversos grupos del instituto (ESO y FP), obteniendo una media grupal del 79% de aciertos en menos de 8 minutos.
Outstanding results obtained by students from 1 DAM and 2 ACOM. The three winners received the diploma of achievement and a school supplies voucher.
