Título: Grappling with pronunciation in bilingual education
Abstract: There is no doubt that pronunciation is an area of utmost importance whenever a new language is learned. In fact, many parents enroll their children in bilingual schools in the hope that they will develop a native-like accent in the foreign language. But is such a goal even possible? Will the child be able to speak the foreign language like a native speaker? Bearing both of these questions in mind, the aim of this presentation is two-fold: on the one hand, to show why developing a native-like accent in a foreign language is a far-reaching goal in bilingual education, and on the other, to offer teachers some tips to accompany the students throughout their pronunciation learning process.
