First steps into teaching in Spanish

My first holidays in Málaga were great. I did a little bit of traveling and exploring but also prepared things for my first teaching lessons. All the visit places were beautiful, but Sevilla was truly special.

Preparing material for lessons was harder than I thought because I didn’t have any material and I had to find it in another language. I enjoyed my first lesson. It was in English, and Professor Jesús was translating for students, who were nice and were cooperating.

After that, I had one teaching lesson each week. Because of the language, I need a lot of time to prepare one lesson, but I enjoy teaching and communicating with students.

Last week I finished some classes because the students went to practice. I was invited to have breakfast with them, which I really enjoyed, it was great talking with them, they are a very nice group of students. We had churros and they were delicious.

I also experienced calima, I was surprised by the amount of sand and the colors of the sky. I met my new teacher Lola, who is full of energy, her classes are interesting and I’m looking forward to intending her classes.

I feel good in the school and I’m grateful for this opportunity.
