| Information about the neighborhood and city (video) | Ronda is a beautiful small town of around 40,000 people, about 90 minutes inland from Málaga city. The town is a popular tourist destination, especially for day-trippers looking to see the famous New Bridge and historic old town. However, Ronda does not have the skyscrappers and vacation homes common in nearby coastal cities.
Weather is mild, though slightly cooler in the winter than the coast.
You can get a good sense of the town and its history from this excerpt from a Rick Steves travel show.
Ronda is well connected to Malaga city and other coastal destinations by frequent buses, and also has a train station with daily connections to Madrid (3-4 hours). The adult education school offers free Spanish classes, and the town hosts a plethora of festivals, concerts, and other cultural events throughout the year

| Getting to school | The urban area of Ronda is fairly compact, making it possible to commute to school on foot with 5-15 minutes. There is also a local bus network that connects neighborhoods further away from the city-center.

Housing in Ronda is fairly affordable, especially when compared with larger cities on the coast (aprox. 250 euro for a room in a shared appartment). Idealista is a helpful resource for finding local housing options. Searching via word of mouth through other language assistance, coordinators, and teachers is also recommended.
