Triple Beam Balance
Use
Determine the mass of an object by direct weighing it.
Description
It is a balance made by a single plate (due to that, it can only move vertically) supported on a pole divided into three sections. Each of these sections, has a scale with different graduation, together with a rider attached to a weight that can be moved.
Functioning
You place the object to be weighed on the plate, so the balance becomes unbalanced. After that, we move the different riders until the balance is restored (when the needle joined to the pole coincides exactly with number zero of a scale placed on a vertical piece attached to the base of the balance). The mass of the object is calculated by adding the values of the divisions corresponding to each of the scales of the pole.
