FLAG FOOTBALL IN… MÁLAGA!

Is there better way to start the day than having fun with your friends? Bilingual Program coordinators at both I.E.S Litoral and one of its attached schools, C.E.I.P Vicente Aleixandre, organized a sports activity based on Flag Football.
The youngest high school students could revisit their former school, while the oldest could get a small taste of the transition to high school. As an internship student at the Programme of Curricular Internships for University Students of Philology Degree in Bilingual Centres, I could truly appreciate everybody’s enthusiasm, coordinators, North American Language and Culture assistants, and students.
Maxine Wydrzynski, Gracie Milner and Sam Slage, the North American linguistic assistants of both centres, shared a bit of their culture with us. It was a fun and playful idea.
Firstly, the kids were divided into 4 groups, where they could learn the basics of Flag Football: Grabbing the flags, shuffling and passing the ball. I got to show the kids how to line up and pass the ball. Spending time with very young students was very amusing!
After these basic learnings, they would be divided into 2 bigger groups in order to play a scrimmage. Doing passes, catching flags and making snaps was really enjoyable for the students! They genuinely looked like they were having so much fun.
Overall, I truly feel this activity is something that not only the kids, but also the rest of those who were there will always remember. Students always love having the chance to practice their English by playing games.
